Delicious Way to Navigate Through Pike Place, Friday, 21 November 2008

We had a really great time on the Savor Seattle tour of Pike Place market. Our tour guide, Stephanie, was absolutely charming. Unbeknownst to us, Pike Place is HUGE. There are so many vendors that without a guide, or an unlimited amount of time, there is no way you would know exactly who to visit.

Each and every sample we had was delicious.

What I also appreciated is that the tour was very organized. We were all given agendas which aslo included restaurant recommendations and a few recipes. This came in handy for us because we had to leave a bit early due to our fussy son.

A BIG plus (and other urban tour operators should definitely invest in this idea) is that the tour guide was miked up and we each had earpieces so if we strayed behind (which we did most of the time) you could still hear her commentary and rush up when samples were served.

The only negative was the tour size itself. We had a few too many people on the tour, so there weren't alot of questions. I think that if the tour was limited to perhaps 5-10 persons (rather than the maybe 15-20 that were on the tour) we could have had a more intimate experience with the vendors.
