Toledo and the wineries of Toledo
Declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986 for its extensive cultural and monumental heritage, Toledo was one of the former capitals of the Spanish Empire, a place where Christians, Jewish and Moorish cultures coexisted. Many famous people and artists, like EL Greco, lived in this city. Toledo has also been mentioned in many famous novels, like El Quixote.
Toledo was also famed by its production of steel and especially for its sword making. The city is still a center for the manufacture of knifes and other steel implements. At Vintage Spain we invite you to explore this enchanting city that would transport you to a different time. Enjoy the gastronomy, the art and the history Toledo has to offer.
We will visit the outstanding bodega 45 minutes away from Toledo that produces very good reds. The visit will include a walk through the vineyards, an explanation of how the wine is made in the winery, a cata or tasting of all the different wines produced there. Then we will follow to Toledo where we will have lunch and visit the city of the three cultures. We will pick you up in the morning and be back in the afternoon.
