Cheese & Wine in Burgundy, Saturday, 11 October 2008

We just came back from Burgundy where Sue Boxell recommended this site. We had a fantastic tour in the beautiful Cote de Beaune, tasting fresh cheeses both from cows' and goats' milk, touring the farms and meeting the animals and of course, the local cheesemakers. The cheeses we tasted were excellent but also the white wines of this region (Puligny Montrachet, Meursault etc) and its reds (Volnay, Pommard) and an amazing drive with panoramic views looking down on the vineyards. We would thoroughly recommend the tour and our guide, Sue.

We started and ended at farms that were so clean and peaceful that it was hard to leave them. The best part has been enoying the memories with the cheeses we brought back. Sue was a wonderful guide. Highly recommend this tour.
